More progress on bombing case in Bangkok

BANGKOK, September 25 (TNA) - As there has been more progress on an official investigation on last month's deadly bomb attack in Bangkok, National Police Chief Police General Somyot Pumpanmuang says that there should be good news before his retirement at the end of this month. Police General Somyot on Friday told journalists of more development from Thai police's questioning two bomber suspects, Adem Karadag and Mieraili Yusufu, on September 24. The national police chief acknowledged that Karadag made the confession because interrogators showed him new evidence. The national police chief noted, however, despite Karadag's confession, police need more strong evidence because the suspect could change his words in court. With solid evidence, the national police chief stressed, Thai police would charge him with premeditated murder in relation to the fatal bomb attack at Ratchaprasong Intersection on August 17, which killed 20 victims and wounded about 130 others, most of whom are foreigners.(TNA)
