National Meeting Marks 80th Founding Anniversary of Samil Wolgan

Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- A national meeting took place at the Central Youth Hall Wednesday to mark the 80th anniversary of Samil Wolgan, a revolutionary publication, founded by President Kim Il Sung. Present at the meeting were Kim Ki Nam, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), officials, journalists, editors and others in the field of media and printing. Kim Ki Nam made a report. He said that the foundation of Samil Wolgan on Dec. 1, 1936 during the anti-Japanese revolution marked a noteworthy event in the media history of the WPK and the Korean people's history of revolutionary struggle. Samil Wolgan was a model of the Juche-oriented media as it took a special place in the history of the Korean revolution attaching importance to writing brush and a revolutionary publication which left an inerasable mark in the history of media in the present era, the reporter said, and went on: It was a revolutionary publication which made a great contribution to the work for realizing the monolithic leadership of the President over the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and the overall Korean revolution. The reporter called for augmenting in every way the militant might of Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist publications and more powerfully inspiring all the service personnel and civilians to turn out in the general offensive for building a socialist power, in hearty response to the decision of the Seventh Congress of the WPK. -0-
