NIHR participates in international conference

Manama, Feb. 20 (BNA): A National Institutions for Human Rights (NIHR) delegation led by Deputy President Abdullah Al-Derazi took part in the International Conference on Human Rights Approach to Conflict Situations. The two-day conference was hosted by Doha and organised by the National Human Rights Committee and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers and the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions (ANNHRI). The conference discussed promoting human rights during armed conflicts in Arab region, developing solutions for the same, as well as reaching non-military mechanisms to manage conflicts and to maintaining the rule of law to ensure the protection of human rights in times of conflict in Arab region. Al-Derazi pointed out the significance of participating in the event for the exchange of views and expertise on human rights issues and the sidelines meetings on highlighting Bahrain's efforts in promoting the dissemination of human rights culture in Bahrain.
