No Malaysians Affected By Train Derailment In New York

PUTRAJAYA (Malaysia), Jan 6 (Bernama) -- No Malaysians were affected when a Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) train derailed at Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn, New York. The incident during Wednesday morning rush hour injured 103 passengers. "The Malaysian consulate-general in New York has confirmed that no Malaysians were affected by the derailment," said the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Jan 5. The statement cited a local authority as saying that about 430 passengers were on the train at the time of the derailment.
