NSTDA, PUM jointly assist Thai SMEs

BANGKOK, February 26 (TNA) - The National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), together with Netherlands Senior Experts (PUM), a leading organization of the Netherlands, have agreed to jointly empower Thai small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to cope with growing competition in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), set to be established by 2015. The NSTDA, therefore, signed the agreement with PUM in Bangkok on Tuesday, under which both sides will transfer technologies, knowledge and techniques, including management and marketing to Thai SMEs so that they can boost their potential and develop their businesses. So far, both the Thai and Dutch organizations have cooperated and jointly launched 20 projects to develop new innovative products and increase the values of existing products with techniques and expertise having been yet existed in Thailand, including the Bio Brick, which can treat wastewater, a freshly-designed tapioca starch production system and a new method of extracting and preservating smells of tea leaves.
