Officer of National Security Committee is sentenced

Almaty, August 22, 2009 (Khabar) - Officer of department of National Security Committee (NSC) in Almaty region is sentenced for four years of imprisonment. This spring the officer wounded two young people with “Osa” traumatic pistol, said Bulat Tazabekov, official spokesman of Chief military Prosecutor’s office during the briefing. The incident occurred at night near one of Almaty cafes after quarrel among the officer of NSC and two guys. The young people were seriously wounded by Kalauov Yelzhan who made two shots. At first suspected denied his guilty but it was proved due to evidences of suffered people, eye witnesses, expertise and shots of video surveillance.

Bulat Tazabekov, official spokesman of Chief military Prosecutor’s office of RK:
- On August 11, Kalauov is acknowledged to be guilty by the sentence of military court of Almaty garrison for committing crime according to article 103, part 1 of Criminal Code of RK “deliberate grave damaging of health, dangerous for life and causing lost of eye sight”. He will be imprisoned into common jail for 4 years. Kalauov will also pay compensation for moral damage 300 and 282 000 tenge for treatment of suffered people.
