Omani FM hails Iranˈs progress in jurisprudential issues

Muscat, April 7, IRNA – Omani Foreign Minister Yousuf bin Alawi said on Sunday that Iran has made landmark progress in the religious and jurisprudential issues. Talking to IRNA Sunday on the sidelines of a conference on development of the jurisprudential sciences, he added that given its part in field, Iranˈs involvement in ideological and religious affairs is necessary. Referring to active presence of the Iranian scholars in the event, he said that the lectures presented by the Iranian participants were of special significance, requiring specific focus. The subjects they dealt with in their lectures can contribute to the betterment of the modern life, the Omani foreign minister said. The 13th Meeting of Development of Jurisprudential Sciences titled ˈImpact of Islamic Jurisprudence on Human Communitiesˈ opened in Muscat on Sunday. Delegations from different countries including Iran presided by Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thoughts Ayatollah Mohsen Araki are present. The Jurisprudence of justice, jurisprudence of human rights in international charters, Islamic jurisprudence and comparative study of Islamic jurisprudence are among the topics to be discussed during the meeting. The meeting is organized by Omanˈs Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs annually.
