One-stop-shop service centres came under the jurisdiction of akimats
Astana, January 05, 2010 (Khabar) - From January 01, service centers from January 1, came under the jurisdiction of local executive authorities. Last autumn the government adopted the decision to transfer one-stop-shop service centres because local authorities work closely with the community and know better the needs and demands of residents. In Kazakhstan, 316 one-stop-shop service centres operate and they render 57 types of services. The Ministry of Justice believes the centers under the auspices of akimats (municipal administrations) act much better, feel better and coordination of government agencies in collecting information will also improve. Also, the Ministry of Justice is confident the akimats will be able to quickly address the issues of placement and resettlement of one-stop-shop service centres. Ministry of Justice intends to continue active participation in the development of centers. Salaries for officers of public service is low now. The Ministry of Justice advised akimats to create new incentives to pay to attract qualified personnel.
