Opera for the 15th anniversary of TURKSOI
Bishkek, September 10, 2009 (Khabar) - Premiere of “Kyorogly” opera according to the ancient Azeri epos of the same title has been performed in Bishkek. The uniqueness of the performing is in international troupe, short period for rehearsals and decorations making. It is the first opera from series of future plays dedicated to the 15th anniversary of TURKSOI. The task of this organization is joint development of Turkic culture and art. “Kyorogly” is an ancient Azeri epos about folk hero and singer Ravshan. According to the legend, he was named as Kyorogly after his father was blinded by order of Gassan-khan. The cruel ruler ordered to blind the old herdsman because he took the horses to mountains and khan failed to gift a horse to his dear guest. The large international group prepared for the performance for one month, about 300 singers, musicians and dancers from 5 countries take part in rehearsals. The performers of main roles had to learn their words in Turkish language but the director is sure all this only enriches situation.
Aflatun Neimatzade, stage manager:
- Multinational singers perform in every city and every singer has his own aesthetic views for the role, his own interpretation and national clothes. That’s why our play unites all of us, our Turkic customs and traditions.
The best opera singers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, turkey, Azerbaijan and Russia perform the roles of Kyorogly, his beloved girl Nigyar, ruler Gassan-khan and others. After premiere in Bihskek the opera will be staged in Almaty, Ankara and Baku. Acquaintance with opera masterpieces is the best way for spiritual mutual enrichment and development of national unique cultures.
Dyusen Kaseinov, general director of TURKSOI:
- Every Turkic country has the best samples of opera art. Choosing them we will recommend for example to stage Kazakh opera in Azeri theater, Tatar opera in Kazakh theater etc.
In the nearest future the organization on joint development of Turkic culture and art plans to stage opera on works of Abai and on “Manas” ancient epos.
