Over 200 kg of marijuana seized in South

SONGKHLA, Dec 5 (TNA) - Two men, including a village chief, have been arrested after police seized about 280 kilogrammes of marijuana in the southern district of Hat Yai. Combined authorities told a press conference that plainclothes police on Friday contacted the village chief of Cho-airong district in Narathiwat province identified as Abdul Tolab Tohmae to buy marijuana. The village chief later asked his alleged accomplice identified as Yaki Mali to deliver 60 pieces of compressed marijuana in front of a shopping mall in Hat Yai. Plainclothes police then arrested Mr. Yaki which led to another seizure of over 200 bars of compressed marijuana at a rented house in Hat Yai. Authorities said the arrested men initially confessed they sold compressed marijuana to an unidentified trafficker who then smuggled the drug to Malaysia. (TNA)
