Parameters of low-enriched uranium removal to Russia to be soon agreed with Iranians - Russian diplomat

MOSCOW, September 15. /TASS/. Parameters of low-enriched uranium removal from Iran to Russia will soon be agreed with the Iranians, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told TASS on Tuesday. He said political director of Iran and the P5+1 group of international mediators (the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council and Germany) would have a meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York to discuss technical details of the Vienna deal. "There are a number of issues that require further work on, including with participation of the Iranian side," he said. "Among the most important ones for us is the issue of removal of low-enriched uranium to Russia, which was raised at the talks [in Vienna]." "Parameters of this work are now being discussed and will soon be agreed with the Iranians. First, [removal of] low-enriched uranium piled up in excess of the agreed upper limit. Second, works to reconfigure the uranium facility at Fordo to manufacture stable isotopes. It is a very difficult job. It will be done on a bilateral Russian-Iranian basis," Ryabkov said. When asked whether it could be said that the implementation of the Minsk agreement was beginning, the Russian diplomat noted, "The [Vienna] agreement includes the date of signing, the date of enforcement, etc. The formal starting point, the agreement adoption day, is in October."
