Pha Daeng scenic viewpoint planned as new tourist attraction in Buri Ram

BURI RAM, Oct 24 (TNA) -- The Sub-district Administration Organisation (SAO) of Lam Nang Rong is pushing forward with developments at the Pha Daeng scenic viewpoint, located between Thailand's Buri Ram and Sakaeo provinces, into a new tourist attraction, where visitors would be able to enjoy the sea of fog, cold weather, a bat cave, as well as enjoy a 3-storey waterfall. Tourists, both locally and from other places, have been flocking to Buri Ram province over the long weekend this week in Thailand, to experience the cold weather and witness the sea of mist at Pha Daeng scenic viewpoint, which fully blankets the forests below at the Bantad Mountain Range and Dong Yai Wildlife Sanctuary. The viewpoint, situated at the jucture of Tap Lad subdistrict, Ta Phraya district of Sakaeo province and Baan Nong Samed of Lam Nang Rong subdistrict, Non Din Daeng district in Buriram province, is being developed by the Lam Nang Rong SAO into a new tourist attraction which would also be connected to other tourist sites, such as the Lam Nang Rong Dam artifical beach, Nong Hong Castle, as well as other natural tourist attractions, like the Ra Reng Roi Roo Forest, Dong Yai Wildlife Sanctuary along monuments in the province. Chief of Lam Nang Rong SAO Boontham Kongsukmak said the Pha Daeng viewpoint is usually frequented by local residents of the province but is now starting to become more popular among visitors traveling from other provinces, where they would take pictures and enjoy the cool weather. Primarily, the SAO has improved the scenery at the site to attract more tourists by putting up signs to inform visitor of the best view for the sea of fog and surrounding scenery, plant more trees, as well as set up trash cans, said the SAO chief. He added that his office has also forward the idea to concerned agencies, including the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry and Transport Ministry, as well as the Buri Ram provincial office to allocate a budget to better improve the location, as not only visitors would be able to witness the sea of mist and enjoy the cold weather, a bat cave and 3-storey waterfall are waiting in the area to be explored as well. Mr Boontham said once the SAO is given the fund to fully turn the location into a new tourist attraction, it would help to draw in more visitors to the province, as well as handsomely generate more income for local residents.
