Plane delayed following bomb threat in Thai South
PHUKET, THAILAND, May 22 (TNA) - An AirAsia plane, Flight FD 3002, from seaside resort Phuket Province in the Thai South to Bangkok, was delayed almost two hours on Friday, after two passengers told the airline's officials they had carried an explosive material with them.
However, the officials confirmed that no explosive article was found following a thorough search by airline and security officials at Phuket International Airport.
The officials said the search was made after the two passengers, who expressed their dissatisfaction with an aviation rule on prohibiting passengers to bring drinking water aboard, reportedly told the AirAsia's staff that they had carried an explosive and left it in a luggage.
The airline then announced that a legal action will be taken against the duo.
There were a total of 141 passengers, plus six pilots and crewmen, aboard the budget airline's flight, which was earlier slated to depart Phuket Airport at 8:40am.
Eventually, the plane left Phuket Airport at 10:37am and arrived at Don Mueang Airport at about 11:55am. (TNA)
