PM To Plasschaert: Iraq Has Proceeded To Approach The UNSC Regarding The Recent Turkish Attack

Baghdad / NINA / - Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi received today, Monday, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Mrs. Jeanine Plasschaert. At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed that Iraq had approached the UN Security Council regarding the recent Turkish attack, which led to the martyrdom of a number of innocent citizens in Dohuk Governorate, and called on the United Nations and the international community to listen to the Iraqi point of view in this regard in a way that enhances Iraq's sovereignty over its territory and protects its citizens. Plasschaert has indicated that she will make a statement in this regard at a session of the UN Security Council to be decided on this matter. The meeting also witnessed a discussion of files of cooperation between Iraq and the United Nations Mission in various other fields, especially with regard to the steps to close the file of the displaced and support the liberated areas./End
