Power-saving Apparatuses Widely Introduced

Pyongyang, August 8 (KCNA) -- In recent years, power-saving apparatuses have been widely introduced into many units of the DPRK to raise the power factor in electric power system. Large-scale metal factories across the country applied modern reactive power compensation devices and frequency converters to save several hundred million kWh of electricity in a year. The Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex and other tens of units in Pyongyang City introduced power cross controllers to ensure the smooth production with less consumption of electricity. A certain unit has saved 20 percent of power consumption in a month by installing tens of power cross controllers. -0-
