President Visits Mt Sinabung Evacuees In N Sumatra

Kabanjahe, North Sumatra, Jan 23 (Antara) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, accompanied by First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, visited the evacuees of the Mount Sinabung eruptions in Kabanjahe, 78 kilometers from Medan, North Sumatra, on Thursday. After arriving at the Soewondo Air Force Base in Medan, the president`s entourage, including several cabinet ministers, immediately proceeded to Kabanjahe, in the Tanah Karo district. President Yudhoyono will be briefed about the status of the evacuees and the arrangements at the shelters, by the North Sumatra Governor Gatot Pudjobroto and Tanah Karo District Head at the main command post located at the Tanah Karo district legislative assembly building. Thereafter, the President and his entourage will pay a visit to the evacuees` command posts at the Kabanjahe Grand Mosque, Batak Protestant church, Regional Military Command complex, Santo Petrus, and Paulus Catholic church.
