Prime Minister receives GCC, Arab ambassadors

Manama, Jan. 8 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has been congratulated by the leaders, heads of governments and peoples of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Arab countries on the success of the medical check-ups he underwent recently. The congratulations were conveyed by the GCC and Arab ambassadors to Bahrain. The ambassadors affirmed the prestigious position enjoyed by HRH the Prime Minister across the GCC and Arab countries, stressing that he is respected by everyone thanks to his stances in support of GCC and Arab cooperation. This came as HRH the Prime Minister received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the ambassadors of a number of GCC and Arab countries, led by the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Shaikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah. The envoys extended warmest congratulations to HRH Premier on the success of the medical check-ups he had undergone recently, praying to Allah the Almighty to bless him with abundant good health and long life to continue the development and progress march in the kingdom. HRH Premier voiced pride in the sincere fraternal feelings expressed by brotherly countries towards him, and requested the ambassadors to convey his greetings to leaders and heads of the governments of their countries. HRH the Prime Minister affirmed that the current situation in the Arab region and the political and economic challenges facing Arab countries require broader solidarity, cooperation and coordination among them to reduce their effects. The Premier expressed confidence in the ability of Arab leaders to identify the challenges and face them, expressing hope that the next Arab Summit will provide a good opportunity to strengthen the aspired for Arab cooperation and solidarity. HRH the Prime Minister said that Bahrain welcomes any international plans to consolidate cooperation and coordination, and build bilateral or multi-lateral relations based on mutual respect and achievement of joint interests. The Kuwaiti Ambassador stressed that HRH Premier is an GCC and Arab icon, noting that the success of the medical check-ups undergone by the Prime Minister has spread joy and happiness across Bahrain, as well as GCC and Arab countries, given the distinguished position he enjoys among leaders and peoples of the region.
