Regional program on creation of pre-school institutions
Taldykorgan, November 27, 2009 (Khabar) - Regional program on creation of pre-school institutions is elaborated in Almaty region. As it is known, during the interactive dialogue with President Nursultan Nazarbayev, he instructed local authorities to take effective measures to eliminate shortage of kindergartens. The Almaty region plans to open about two hundred children's mini-centers and build more than 30 new kindergartens during there years. A new school for one hundred and eighty seats was opened in the village of Abai in Sarkand district. The old building was erected in 1934 quite dilapidated and even annual repair could not save the situation. Mini-center for up to eighty children will be opened the next year in this new school. The villagers believe that such kindergartens must be opened in every rural school.
Omirserik Takishev, a resident of Abai village:
- We wish more nursery schools and mini-centers in schools were opened in rural areas. We are pleased that the government is already engaged in this issue in all the regions especially in rural areas, and preschool institutions and mini-centers and kindergartens are opened.
In general, about 20% of children got to kindergartens in the Almaty region. And more than twenty thousand children stand in line for preschool. Now the regional authorities control this issue. A three-year program was elaborated and hundreds of mini - centers and dozens of kindergartens will be opened in its framework.
Amandyk Batalov, first deputy governor of Almaty region:
- Next year we will build 77 mini-centers, in 2011 year - 50, and in 2012 - 60 mini-centers. About 4 thousand children will go there. In addition, we will build 11 kindergartens the next year, 10 – in 2011 and in 2012. And the nursery schools will be built at the expense of regional budget.
Besides, 26 of the former nursery schools were returned to municipal property. Pre-school buildings, which now are occupied by state bodies, also planned to be used for the intended purpose. In general, 35,5 000 children should be provided with places in kindergartens under the regional program in three years.
