Religious ceremonies held for victims of Bangkok's bombing

BANGKOK, August 21 (TNA) - Five religious ceremonies, with merit makings, have been organized for victims of a deadly bomb attack at Ratchaprasong Intersection in central Bangkok on August 17 and also for blessings of people and the capital. Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office ML Panadda Diskul and Bangkok Governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra led representatives of public and private agencies, local business operators and the general public to attend the ceremonies of five religions, including Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Bramanism and Sikhism at Ratchaprasong Intersection on Friday morning, amid tight security measures provided by more than 500 soldiers and police. The participants also prayed for the peaceful spirits of all those killed in the bombing, so far slated at 20. The ceremonies, covered by several international journalists, were also aimed at restoring confidence among visitors to Bangkok. (TNA)
