Report of Astana mayor

Astana, December 04, 2009 (Khabar) - Nursery schools for 11.000 places to be built in Astana by 2010. Reporting on the implementation of the people’s party platform before the members of the Nur Otan Party, the head of Astana, Imangali Tasmagambetov announced that within two years, the problem of the shortage of pre-school institutions will be tackled as by the 1st of July, 2010, the city officials are to complete the construction of shared construction residential facilities.

Imangali Tasmagambetov, mayor of Astana:
- In order to calm tensions around this issue, next year it is planned to commission nursery schools for 11.000 children. In 2011 we are to construct another 29 nursery schools. As a result, by 2011, the lack of nursery schools will be 90% solved.

As part of the Road Map programme the city has already used 8 million tenge out of 10 and provided over 4000 people with jobs. Currently, the city is constructing 9 healthcare units. Next year, by order of the head of state, the construction of the thermal plant 3 as well as power supply lines and 120 kilometres of water and sewerage networks will begin in the city.

Imangali Tasmagambetov, mayor of Astana:
- Utility systems will give us a possibility to solve the majority of problems. Additionally, we were talking about pulling down old houses in the old part of the city. As you understand we should equip it with utility systems and supply it with heat and power energy.
