Russian Culture Min.: Iran-Russia Cultural Ties, Promising

Moscow, Oct 2, IRNA - Russian Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky on Monday gave upbeat report about cultural relations between Tehran and Moscow in recent years.
He made the remarks in his statement to the opening ceremony of Iranian Cultural Week in Moscow.
Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini and his entourage were present in the opening ceremony of Iranian Cultural Week.
Medinsky said that cultural cooperation between the two countries is deep-rooted and profound.
"We are very glad to hold Iranian cultural week in the cities of Moscow and Saint Petersburg to get acquainted with Iranian rich culture and civilization," he said.
Grounds for expansion of relations and cooperation between Iran and Russia are well-prepared and the two nations can become more familiarized with each others culture and tradition, he said.
Iran's minister of culture and Islamic Guidance arrived in Moscow to attend in Iran's cultural week in Moscow.
Iranian minister and his Russian counterpart attended the opening ceremony of the cultural week.
During his stay, Hosseini is to confer with Russian officials on issues of mutual interests and also meet with the Iranian expatriates residing in Russia.
Hosseini also is to inspect historical and cultural monuments in the country.
Over 50 Iranian artists are taking part in the cultural event to be slated for October 1-8 in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.
Various Iranian films, arts, photos, calligraphy, and handicrafts will be displayed in the event.
An Iranian traditional music group is to play music in the cultural week.
Russian cultural week is to be held in Tehran next year./end
