Russian violinist to accompany Rudaki orchestra in Tehran
TEHRAN,Nov.2(MNA) -- Renowned Russian violinist Graf Mourja will perform concerts accompanied by the Rudaki Symphony Orchestra.
He will perform the Violin Concerto in D minor by Jean Sibelius during a series of concerts which will be held from November 6 to 8 at the Vahdat Hall.
Conducted by Arash Amini, the orchestra will also perform “The Barber of Seville” by Rossini, “Two Orchestral Pieces according to Arab Melodies” by Nader Abbasi and “Fugue for String Orchestra” by Mohammadreza Darvishi.
Shostakovich’s suite no.2 for orchestra, humoresques for violin and orchestra by Rossini, and “Ghadir”, a piece composed by Shaahin Farhat will be other musical selections performed by the orchestra during the concerts.
In Russia, Graf Mourja has long been recognized as the leading violinist of his generation. He has won numerous international competitions (the Paganini, Genoa (1990), Vianna da Motta, Lisbon (1991), Tchaikovsky, Moscow (1994), Jacques Thibaud-Ville de Paris (1996), Sarasate (1997), Viotti-Valsesia, Rome (1999), UNISA, Pretoria, (2002) and he was picked as a Lauréat Juventus by the Council of Europe in 1994.
