Saudi participation in BIAS is outstanding and successful

By Hawra Alfandi Manama, Nov. 11 (BNA): Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) is celebrating a decade of distinction with 200 civilian and military delegations and 186 participating companies from all around the globe. It wouldn’t be quite the celebration without the participation of the Kingdom’s closest partner, Saudi Arabia. Following successful participation in all previous editions, this year Saudi Arabia is participating with 12 different companies under the umbrella of SAUDIA Group. The companies vary from airlines, cargo, aerospace engineering, ground handling services, to real estate development, medical services, catering, and aviation academies. The corporate chalet, exhibition hall, ground display, and air display at BIAS all highlight Saudi participation. On the second day of the event, SAUDIA group confirmed the signing of two agreements and the participation of Captain Fahad Cynndy, SAUDIA Aerospace Engineering Industries (SAEI) CEO, in a panel discussion presenting the latest trends with regional and global speakers in the air transport and aerospace industries. “Participating in such international events is an opportunity to display our new products and services and the participation in BIAS particularly is more significant because it offers industry-leading content and a first-class networking experience with key regional decision-makers,” General Manager of Communication & Media Affairs at SAUDIA airlines Abdullah Al Shahrani said. Many aviation academies are present in the exhibition hall to showcase their offerings to the interested audience. Including one of the top academies in the region, OxfordSaudia Flight Academy. The academy is located at King Fahad International Airport, Dammam, and it aims to provide the highest quality training in the safest environment, using the latest equipment in and out of the classroom. It is the academy's first participation in BIAS to announce the addition of two Robinson helicopters to its fleet of air vehicles and the beginning of training programs on these helicopters. It also announced the guaranteed-employment program as flight instructors for holders of commercial pilot licenses or anyone who would like to be in the training industry. “Our vision is to make the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia a landmark of the aviation training industry in the Middle East and the world. And it is happening, the Academy has previously signed an agreement to train 1000 Chinese students besides having students from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and other Middle Eastern countries,” Director of Project Management at OxfordSaudia Majed Al Otaibi said. “We are also the first academy to train women to fly in Saudi Arabia, which is historic, and now we have female students who graduated and obtained their pilot licenses.” Saudi Arabia is there for the entertainment part as well, attendees of BIAS 2022 will be able to check out two of SAUDIA Group aircrafts; the Boeing 787-10 and Airbus 320neo. SAUDIA’s Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner is the airline’s flagship aircraft. Configured to be the most fuel-efficient aircraft that offer better cabin comfort and lower emission. SAUDIA Group’s low-cost carrier flyadeal will display the brand-new Airbus 320neo that offers outstanding operational, economic and environmental performance. As for the world-class flying display shows, the Saudi Hawks aerobatic team were always present in all BIAS editions to perform memorable performances and show the great level of skill the international team have attained. Saudi Arabia has been, and always will be Bahrain's partner and supporter in such international events and we are looking forward to having them in each and every event.
