Sci-tech Achievements Helpful to Ensuring Safety and Modernity of Roads

Pyongyang, March 17 (KCNA) -- Achievements conducive to ensuring the safety and modernity of roads have been made recently in the DPRK. Researchers developed a portable instrument for measuring the bearing capacity of roadbed, making it possible to put the roadbed construction and test on a more scientific basis. And newly-standardized traffic signs and speed-limiting devices were installed on motorways, sight-seeing roads and other roads for the convenience of vehicles and pedestrians. Meanwhile, the Mangyongdae Highway Marking Factory has put the production of traffic suspension markers on a normal basis by localizing raw and other materials at 100 percent. -0-
