Security authorities agree on "no curfew" in Thai South

BANGKOK, February 15 (TNA) - Security authorities have unanimously resolved not to enforce any curfew in the violence-plagued Thai far South. National Security Council (NSC) Secretary-General Lieutenant General Paradorn Pattanatabutr told journalists of the resolution after a meeting of an official committee tasked with implementing policies and strategies on solving problems in the troubled Thai deep South, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Police Captain Chalerm Yubamrung. Lieutenant General Paradorn said all the security authorities agreed that it remains unnecessary to impose any curfew in certain areas in the southernmost Thai region, expressing their confidence in local security forces to handle the situation, amid rising cooperation from locals and more intensified intelligence.
