Seifullin museum opened after restoration
Astana, October 15, 2009 (Khabar) - As part of the activity program, which is devoted to the 115th anniversary of Saken Seifullin Astana has witnessed the restoration of his museum.
The first for 20 years repairs transformed the building but left the atmosphere of Saken Seifullin’s life, the atmosphere of the Soviet power, when the Council of People’s Commissars raised issues about national staff training and were talking about the necessity of the increase of the Kazakh language status. Both as a civil servant and a poet, Saken Seifullin stood up for the independence of the Kazakh people. He accidentally escaped death in 1918, during the White Guard coup but was killed in 1938. He was accused of bourgeois and was executed by shooting in the NKVD prison.
Mukhambet Kopeyev, deputy head of RK Parliament Senate Chairman:
- Saken Seifullin was dreaming about the independence of Kazakhstan and the freedom of its people. He is a good example to follow.
Saken was the first who got acquainted Rymzhan Seifullina with the richness of the national literature.
Rymzhan Seifullina, niece of Saken Seifullin:
- He had been teaching such people as Gabit Musrepov and Sabit Mukanov. He got up every morning and went to the station in order to buy newspapers and then shared information with people.
The museum exhibits contain the letter of Saken Seifullin to Lenin and Kalinin about the secession of Bokei district from the Astrakhan region and joining it to the Kazakh SSR. In the near future exhibits of the museum will be replenished with the documentary about Turksib, which features Saken Seifullin.
