Shura Chairman underscores importance of dialogue in fostering parliamentary relations

Rabat, Mar. 4 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh has emphasised the importance of parliamentary dialogues and forums in strengthening relations between countries and unifying stances and visions regarding various issues. He was speaking during his participation in the parliamentary dialogue forum between the senates, shura and equivalent councils in Africa and Arab world and Latin America and the Caribbean. The forum convened today in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, in the presence of Speakers of parliaments and legislative councils. Al Saleh was heading the Shura Council delegation participating in the forum which comprises Head of the Services Committee Dr. Jihad Abdullah Al Fadhel, and Head of the Human Rights Committee, Ahmed Mehdi Al Hadad. He stressed the Shura Council’s keenness on fostering parliamentary cooperation and active participation in tackling issues of common concern. The Shura Council Chairman noted that parliamentary conferences and forums represent an opportunity to highlight development in the Kingdom of Bahrain and continuous contributions to handling issues aimed at achieving more integration and cooperation between brotherly and friendly countries. Al Saleh noted that the Arab and African parliamentary dialogue with Latin America and the Caribbean forum comes at a time the roles and responsibilities of parliaments are increasing, particularly as they are a reflection of democracy and its importance for growth and development.
