Spring Tree Planting Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, April 27 (KCNA) -- Amid a nation-wide public campaign for spring tree planting, officials and workers of South Phyongan, Kangwon and North Hamgyong provinces of the DPRK have planted many trees in mountains and hills. Officials in the forestry sector fixed afforestation areas and species of trees in conformity with the state of forests and topographical features, while properly carrying out organizational and political work. Citizens in South Phyongan Province planted more than 3 200 000 wild fruit trees. Those in Kangwon Province planted at least 17 million trees in the area of thousands of hectares. Those in North Hamgyong Province, too, have planted more than 15 million trees while observing the technical rules in each planting process. -0-
