TAT goes ahead with its campaigns to restore tourists’ confidence

BANGKOK, August 22 (TNA) -- The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is conducting many campaigns to restore tourists’ confidence and improve the tourism image of the country. TAT deputy governor for Marketing Communications Sugree Sithivanich said that although the bombing at Bangkok’s Ratchaprasong intersection on Aug 17, the TAT decided to proceed with its earlier planned marketing campaigns to boost the tourism industry. In August it will organise a Thai silk festival called “Celebration of Silk, the Miracle Journey” on the fourth floor of the passenger terminal at Suvarnabhumi airport from Aug 25 to Sept 6. There will be a Thai silk fashion show on Aug 25. The TAT will also organise the “Amazing Thailand Front Liners Program BKK & Beyond 2015” to welcome 146 salespersons of leading tour companies to Thailand to update them on true tourist situations in the country. To penetrate China, the TAT will host the “Honeymoon in Thailand” party for 45 couples of Chinese honeymooners on Ko Samui island of Surat Thani province on Aug 22. From the party, the TAT hopes that social networks as well as online and offline media will present Thailand as honeymooners’ destination to over 5 million netizens in China. Besides, Thailand will host the global conference of TBEX Asia 2015 (Travel Blog Exchange) at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre from Oct 15 to 17. The session is likely to attract over 1,000 bloggers from America, Europe, Asia and Australia. (TNA)
