Thai Authorities Arrest Two Men Linked To Bombing 50 Electricity Poles

By TUWEDANIYA (PD) PATTANI, April 27 (Bernama) - Authorities in southern Thailand arrested two men on suspicion of being involved in bombing over 50 electricity poles in three southern provinces on April 6 and 7. Internal Security Operation Command (Isoc) deputy spokesman Col Yuttanam Petchmuang said the duo were picked up in separate locations following public information and footage obtained from closed-circuit television cameras. He said the arrests were made possible based on their respective DNA in Mayo, Pattani and in Raman, Yala. Speaking to reporters Wednesday, he hoped the suspects would lead to more arrests linked to the bombing. Yuttanam said the authorities were on the hunt for another suspect from Narathiwat. Following the bombing incident, most areas in the southern provinces were without electricity. -- BERNAMA
