Thai PM receives KIPA Award
BANGKOK, March 9 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has received a special award from the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) for supporting national research strategies and policies.
The Thai prime minister has also received the KIPA Award 2014 for supporting the development of Thai sciences, technologies and innovation, as well as
having his government to promote inventions to improve people’s living conditions.
KIPA President Cho Un-young arrived in Thailand to directly present the award to the prime minister.
According to Thai Government Spokesman Yongyuth Mayalarp, the prime minister then expressed his gratitude and insisted that he will continue to support research and development of sciences and technologies for the sake of national economic, industrial and social development.
The spokesman stated that the Thai government has attached importance to research, development and innovation to modernize Thailand's production and services and boost national economic growth.
The spokesman said the prime minister also praised South Korea for its excellent research, development and technologies that help strengthen Thailand and other Asian countries.
Besides, the prime minister expressed gratitude toward KIPA for providing Thai inventors, especially young ones and students, with continual opportunities to demonstrate their capabilities in the Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF). (TNA)
