Thai Red Cross requests for blood donations

BANGKOK, April 4 (TNA) - The National Blood Centre under the Thai Red Cross Society organises the "We Face the Drought Season, but We Can Be Generous by Donating Blood" campaign from April 7-15, aimed to encourage the public to realise the importance of blood donation, as the centre is preparing its blood reserves ahead of the upcoming Songkran or the Traditional Thai New Year Festival. The centre announced on Saturday that it must procure around 1,600-2,000 units of blood daily, as targeted, and must have blood reserves of around 3,000 units a day to meet the demand of patients nationwide during the upcoming long-holiday period. The centre, therefore, requested strong and healthy individuals to donate their blood during the campaigning period at the centre in Bangkok and its blood donation units in provincial areas. (TNA)
