Thai students bring home World Robot Olympiad awards

BANGKOK, November 25 (TNA) - Thai students have won seven awards from the 11th World Robot Olympiad (WRO) in Russia. The group of more than 100 Thai youth winners arrived at Thailand's main Suvarnabhumi International Airport on Tuesday amidst warm welcome from their teachers, friends, relatives and even authorities concerned. The top prize for students aged no older than 19 years in the autonomous robot category was won by students of Chaiyaphum Pakdee Chumphon School in Thailand's northeastern Chaiyaphum Province, while the second prize winners are students from Chakkham Kanathorn School in the northern Lamphun Province. Students aged not older than 15 years from Chaiyaphum Pakdee Chumphon School also brought home the second and the third prizes in the same category. The first and second prizes winners in WRO GEN II Football category are students from Saint Gabriel's College and Yothin Burana School, both are in Bangkok, while students from Thai Niyom School in Bangkok won the special award for creative and innovative robotics project. The 11th World Robot Olympiad was organised in Russia’s southwestern Sochi City from November 21-23, 2014. (TNA)
