Thailand develops new database on flood rehabilitation

BANGKOK, March 16 (TNA) - The Thai government is developing a new database system for flood relief and rehabilitation and will publicize the system online on an official website, pmocflood.com, scheduled to be launched on March 20. Deputy Government Spokesman Chalitrat Chandrubeksa told journalists after a meeting of the Center for Recovery Management System's Executive Committee, chaired by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, on Thursday that the prime minister has tasked relevant agencies to keep updating the P-MOC FLOOD database, as its website was set to be launched on March 20. Chalitrat said that Premier Yingluck has also assigned the relevant agencies to regularly report updates included in the database and posted on the website to the Cabinet every week. According to the deputy government spokesman, information collecting for the new database system is expected to be complete by next month and the new system will then be use for the government's decisions and disbursements of flood-related assistance sponsored by a 120-billion-baht state budget. The deputy spokesman announced that the Thai government has also launched a new hotline, 1111, for providing relevant information to local flood victims. (TNA)
