Turkey to open high-speed rail line to northwestern province

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkey will open a high-speed rail line to the northwestern province of Bursa. Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc; Transportation, Maritime & Communication Minister Binali Yildirim; Suleyman Karaman, the director general of Turkish State Railways (TCDD); signed the contract with YSE Yapi-Tepe Insaat consortium in Ankara. YSE Yapi-Tepe Insaat consortium will construct the Bursa-Yenisehir part of Bursa High-Speed Train Project. The project envisages construction of 20 tunnels, 20 viaducts, and 44 underpasses and overpasses. There will be three stations in Bursa, Gursu and Yenisehir. Infrastructural works are expected to be completed in two and a half years, and the construction of Yenisehir-Bilecik line will begin synchronously. In August 2011,YSE-Tepe consortium won the bid to constructed 75-km Bursa-Yenisehir part of Ankara-Istanbul high-speed train project with 393.17 billion Turkish liras (TL).
