Turkey says satellite company's decision on Roj TV complies with court verdict

ANKARA (A.A) - January 19, 2012 - Turkish Foreign Ministry said that the relevant satellite company's decision to suspend the presence of Roj TV on its satellites complied with the verdict of the Court of Copenhagen. A statement by the ministry said on Thursday that the Court of Copenhagen delivered a verdict on January 10, 2012 that the Roj TV channel was an instrument of terrorist organization PKK with respect to their financial, structural and operational ties. The statement said after this verdict, the relevant satellite company decided to suspend the presence of Roj TV on its satellites and asked distributors uplinking Roj TV to its satellites to suspend broadcasts of the channel, stating that satellite company's decision complied with the court verdict.
