UNHCR hails Sultan bin Zayed's efforts in supporting humanitarian issues

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has expressed thanks and appreciation to H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President's Representative and Chairman of Sultan bin Zayed's Cultural and Media Centre, on the constructive cooperation and concrete support provided by the Sultan bin Zayed Centre to UNHCR's activities serving humanitarian issues, especially in the field of refugees. Mansour Saeed Al Mansouri, Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs in the Centre, during a meeting yesterday with Imran Riza, Regional Representative for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), highlighted the interest of Sheikh Sultan in humanitarian and social issues. He also highlighted the continuous directives of Sheikh Sultan to serve all that would be beneficial to humans everywhere. Imran said that the UAE is contributing to humanitarian work in all its aspects. He praised the contribution of the Sultan bin Zayed Culture and Media Centre in the provision of copies of the "Children's Encyclopaedia of Stories", to the High Commissioner of the United Nations to be distributed among Syrian refugees' children in neighbouring countries. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
