World Syria Hour: Raising Funds To Help Syrians

KUALA LUMPUR, March 16 (Bernama) -- Aman Palestin Berhad aims to raise US$36,053 (RM160,000) through the 'World Syria Hour' campaign from March 7-18, as an initiative to distribute essential goods to the people of the war-torn country. Its chief executive officer, Awang Suffian Awang Piut said the campaign focused more on spreading the campaign via social media as information can be disseminated more easily. "The campaign centres more on convenient contributions for as low as US$2.25 (RM10) per person," he said in a statement Wednesday. Awang Suffian said the campaign with the slogan, "One Hour To Feel Them", which began on March 7 used materials such as videos, articles and infographic statistics on murder and refugee cases in Syria to instil public awareness. The public can also channel their donations through the Maybank account of Aman Palestin Berhad (A/C No: 562263010787) or Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (A/C No: 12029010047880). --BERNAMA
