YADIM Holds Workshop To Discover Young Muslim Leaders
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 (Bernama) -- Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (YADIM) on Saturday kicked-off its mission to discover potential Muslim young leaders by organising the Dakwah Young Fellow Assessment Workshop 2017.
Its Senior Executive, Mohd Khamis Mohamad Sani, said that the workshop also aimed to create young leaders with Islamic studies background and great ambitions to elevate the dakwah mission in the country.
He said that those selected would be given intensive training in various aspects of leadership, among others in knowledge, writing, to argue critically and concisely, as well as the opportunity to meet with the country's leaders.
The workshop is held under the YADIM Dakwah Young Fellowship Programme (FMB), a special programme approved by Prime Minister Najib Razak to enable YADIM (Islamic Missionary Foundation Malaysia) to train and give exposure to Malaysian youths aged between 23 to 30 years.
FMD is open to graduates from local or overseas universities and those selected will have the opportunity to gain experience and valuable input that can shape the identity of a young preacher.
To date, six FMD groups have been formed, with a total of 150 members consisting of 88 men and 62 women.
The three-month intensive training and fieldwork include 15 comprehensive training modules like mind setting, constitution and patriotism, discipline, village placements, professional, leadership and Smart daie (preacher).
A total of 34 graduates from local and overseas universities are participating in the workwhop.
