The Governor Of Al-Najaf Discusses With The Canadian Ambassador A Number Of Issues Of Common Concern

Najaf / NINA /- The Governor of Najaf, Majid Al-Waeli, received today, Tuesday, the Canadian Ambassador to Iraq, Gregory Galligan, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Director of the Foreign Relations Department.

Ahmed Al-Fatlawi, the media spokesman for the governor, said, "During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues of concern to both sides."

Al-Waeli welcomed the visit of the Canadian ambassador, stressing that it is a focus of attention and pride, and a number of topics were discussed that show the importance of Najaf and its religious, agricultural, industrial and tourist identity.

For his part, the Canadian diplomat said, “Najaf is a big and important city, and the Canadian government supports several activities and programs that support Iraq in various industrial, tourism and agricultural fields, such as supporting the programs of the FAO organization.
