Kyrgyzstan starts construction of Asman eco-city

Issyk-Kul, June 30, 2023. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov laid a capsule at the construction site of the environmentally friendly Asman city of the future.

The city of Asman is planned to be built in the Issyk-Kul region in the village of Toru-Aigyr, which is 200 kilometers far from the Kyrgyz capital city.

The city is intended to become the economic and tourist center of the country, where the introduction of an advanced educational system, the construction of modern health and business centers, stadiums, the placement of high-tech parks, as well as the presence of financial and credit institutions, etc. will be provided.

According to the project, the construction of a conceptually new city within 4,000 hectares will cost less than the renovation of a functioning one. The production infrastructure will be based on high-tech smart city developments with extensive use of alternative energy sources, optimal resource consumption, environmentally friendly modes of transport, and in compliance with the principles of a green economy.

According to the specified parameters, the capacity of the infrastructure will be designed for 500,000 permanent residents. Taking into account the possibility of exporting services, the reserve potential will reach 700 thousand. Approximate terms of realization — from 7 to 10 years. The city, which from a height will look like the national musical instrument Komuz, is planned to be built in the Issyk-Kul region.
