Turk woman cadet graduates ranking first

A woman cadet on Friday topped the graduating batch from a military school in the Aegean province of Izmir. Merve Gezginci, one of 50 female cadets, trained at the Gendarmerie Commando School and Training Center Command received her certificate at a ceremony. “My dream is to show success at the academy, to represent the country, the nation and the flag in the best way,” said Gezginci, who hails from the eastern Erzincan province. “We women are strong and we show it everywhere,” she added. A total of 492 cadets -- including 50 women -- completed a 43-week basic commando training. A few more cadets, who ranked top in the training, were also given certificates and awards at the ceremony.
