Plasschaert: The Iraqi Govt Has Made Clear Beyond Doubt Its Commitment To The Principles Of Int'l Law And Its Respect For UN Resolutions

Baghdad / NINA / -The head of the United Nations mission in Iraq, Hennis-Plasschaert, confirmed during her briefing in the Security Council on developments in Iraq that the Iraqi government has taken steps in the budget that allow an increase in private sector investments. 

Plasschaert said that the tripartite budget in Iraq included paragraphs to meet urgent needs, such as infrastructure development projects.

Plasschaert, confirmed that the Iraqi budget included the highest financial allocations for the provision of social services such as health care and education.

Plasschaert said, regarding Khor Abdullah, that the Iraqi government has made clear beyond doubt its commitment to the principles of international law and its respect for bilateral agreements and United Nations resolutions.

Plasschaert said: Iraq has made efforts to secure its borders with Iran.

Plasschaert added: We welcome the continued efforts to activate bilateral committees between Iraq and Turkey.

Plasschaert confirmed that Iraq is committed to its positive relations with its neighbors.
