1,000 families at Ein al-Hilweh refugee camp benefit from Khalifa Foundation aid

BEIRUT, 3rd March, 2017 (WAM) -- The Humanitarian and Development Affairs Attache at the UAE Embassy in Lebanon; has distributed humanitarian aid to Palestinian refugees at the Ein al-Hilweh refugee camp. The aid is part of "the UAE's Response to the Displaced Syrians - Winter 2017," in co-operation with the Sympathy and Social Services Association in Sidon, Lebanon. The move also follows the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to turn 2017 into the Year of Giving. About 1,000 families – roughly 5,000 beneficiaries – were assisted by the aid. They received winter clothing, shoes, woolen blankets and dates provided by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation. Those beneficiaries had been affected by the recent incidents at the Palestinian camp. Counsellor Muslim Al Mansouri, Director of the Humanitarian and Development Affairs Attache, said that the provision of aid would continue. He noted that during a meeting of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees' partners held on Friday, attended by the UAE, touched on the volatile situation at the camp and its impact on Lebanon. http://wam.ae/en/details/1395302600795
