5+1 should offer new proposals: Iranian nuclear negotiator

TEHRAN,Feb.12(MNA) – Mostafa Dolatyar, a member of the Iranian team negotiating with world powers over Tehran’s nuclear program, has said that the major powers should offer Iran new proposals at a new round of talks scheduled to be held in Kazakhstan on February 26. “We mentioned our points in Moscow, and they were supposed to respond. And basically, they should present the result of their consideration in Kazakhstan. They are aware that they should offer Iran new proposals,” Dolatyar said. The latest round of talks between Iran and the 5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) was held in Moscow on June 18 and 19, 2012. The major powers have demanded that Iran halt 20 percent enrichment of uranium, shut down the Fordo uranium enrichment facility, and ship all of its stocks of 20 percent enriched uranium out of the country. Iran’s main demand is that its right to uranium enrichment, as enumerated in the NPT, be recognized.
