Al-Kadhimi, Raisi Discuss Ways To Consolidate Bilateral Relations And Develop Joint Cooperation

Baghdad / NINA / - Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi met today, Sunday, with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ibrahim Raisi, at the start of his official visit to Tehran, which he arrived this afternoon from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The media office of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi stated: "The two sides discussed the consolidation of bilateral relations between the two countries, the development of means of cooperation in various fields, and also discussed the most important regional files of common interest, which involve issues related to the security of the two neighboring countries and the stability of the region." The two sides affirmed their support for the armistice in Yemen, and the strengthening of efforts to establish peace there, as well as the assertion that a peaceful solution to the crisis stems from the internal will of the Yemenis. The Iranian president praised Iraq's role, and its efforts in converging views and establishing calm in the region, which would enhance its regional and international role and presence./End
