Aoun invited by representative of Kuwaiti Emir to visit Kuwait

NNA - President of the Lebanese Republic, General Michel Aoun, on Tuesday received at Baabda Presidential Palace the representative of Kuwaiti Emir, State Minister for Kuwaiti Cabinet Affairs, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al Moubarak Al Sabbah, who extended to him an invitation to visit Kuwait, with President Aoun promising that he will duly accept it. The visit took place in presence of Foreign Affairs Minister Gibran Bassil, Kuwaiti Ambassador Abdul Aal Al Qinai and others. The President said that he would always look forward to boosting the bilateral relation "that has been throughout history fraternal and cooperative." He notably appreciated the support provided by Kuwaiti state and its financial funds to fund developmental projects in Lebanon. Minister Al Sabbah, for his part, said that Kuwait, with its Emir and people, "will always stand by Lebanon's side and wish Lebanon every sort of positive thing." He added, "Electing President Aoun is a source of hope and optimism for all due to the contributions he showed in different fields." He said that his country was keen on boosting the bilateral relations and "will continue to finance developmental projects identified by the Lebanese government." He congratulated the Lebanese state on its exerted efforts in favor of preserving local stability, most notably in foiling the terrorist, suicidal operation that was on the verge of hitting Hamra. Among Baabda's visitors had been Head of Kataeb Party MP Sami Gemayel, the candidate to France's presidential election Emmanuel Macron and a delegation of Lebanese citizens from Majdel Anjar.
