Armenian allegations will be on the agenda of the French Parliament on Thursday
PARIS (A.A) - December 19, 2011 - The French government on Tuesday will decide if a resolution criminalizing the rejection of Armenian allegations pertaining to the incidents of 1915 will be on the agenda of the French Parliament on Thursday, December 22 or not.
The group chairman of the ruling Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) Christian Jacob said Monday that Prime Minister Francois Fillon will decide on Tuesday if such a resolution will be on the agenda of the parliament on Thursday.
The Armenian resolution is expected to be voted on on December 22.
If the resolution gets on the agenda on Thursday, the UMP group will vote in favor of it, Jacob stressed.
If adopted on Thursday, the resolution will make it a crime to deny the Armenian allegations on the incidents of 1915 and punish individuals with a prison sentence of 1 year and a monetary fine of 45,000 euros.
