Army's ground forces to be equipped with Karrar tank

Chabahar, Sistan-Baluchestan prov, Dec 12, IRNA – Iranian Army Ground Forces Commander Brigadier General Kiumars Heidari said on Monday that his forces would be equipped with domestically-manufactured battle Karrar (Striker) tank in near future. Commander Heidari made the remarks on the sidelines of the 'Prophet Mohammad- 4' military drill currently underway in South East of Iran (Konarak-Iranshahr). He underscored that the operational functions of Zolfaqar and Samsam tanks would also be examined during the three-day military maneuver. The 'Prophet Mohammad- 4' military drill kicked off in the presence of Commander Heidari on Dec 11 (Sunday) in Konarak-Iranshahr. The 'Prophet Mohammad- 4' military drill aims at assessing units operation in the field of tactical mobility and rapid transition, exchanging experience and management, capabilities of modern combats to young commanders, reducing the time of forces' reaction against threats and exploiting new defense systems.
