Aronia Melanocarpa Widely Cultivated

Pyongyang, July 30 (KCNA) -- Aronia melanocarpa is widely cultivated in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Over the last 10-odd years, at least 2 878 500 Aronia melanocarpa trees have been planted across the country. The tree is now being cultivated in all parts of the country, except the area over 800 meters above the sea level. New cultivation methods were introduced in the course of a campaign for planting Aronia melanocarpa. President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il gave instructions on widely cultivating Aronia melanocarpa and using its berries as medicinal materials for the improvement of people's health. Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un stressed that more Aronia melanocarpa should be planted this year, too. -0-
